Did you watch the Pyeonchang Olympics? We were following it closely, especially the fairytale run of the “Garlic Girls,” the South Korean women’s curling team. We shouted ourselves hoarse as we cheered them on like gleeful children.

Speaking of children, have you read Han Yujoo’s The Impossible Fairytale yet? Did you know it’s been longlisted for the 2018 Pen Translation Prize? You can read our interview with Han and an excerpt from her book in our Winter 2017 issue.

You might think sports and literature don’t mix. But, guess what, LTI made it happen. We held a special exhibition on Korean books for sportswriters during the Olympics season. To read about what they thought about the exhibition and other exciting articles, stay tuned for our Spring 2018 issue!

Warm regards,
Korean Literature Now Team
