Shin Dalja
Shin Dalja is a member of the National Academy of Arts, and has served as the chair of the Society of Korean Poets. She has received the Republic of Korea’s Eungwan (Silver Crown) Order of Cultural Merit, the Chong Chi-Yong Literature Prize, the Daesan Literary Award, and the Gong Cho Literature Award. Her poetry collection Paper has been translated into Mongolian and Spanish, and Passionate Love into German. -
Shin Kyung-sook
Shin Kyung-sook is a writer. Born in Jeongeub, North Jeolla Province in 1963. She made her literary debut in 1985 when her novella "A Winter Fable" won the Munye Joongang Literary Award for Best First Novel. Sim Yunkyung
Sim Yunkyung earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Molecular Biology at Seoul National University. She has received the Hankyoreh Literature Award and the Muyeong Literary Award. She has published five novels and a few children’s books. -
Song Chanho
Song Chanho has authored the poetry collections The Soil Has a Quadrilateral Memory , A Chair Empty for Ten Years , Red Eye Camellia , The Night of the Cat’s Return , Pink Wooden Clogs , and Like the Goose Going Out to Play in a Field of Kalimeris Asters . The Night of the Cat’s Return was published in English in 2015. He has received the Kim Su-Young Literary Award, the Daesan Literary Award, and the Yi Sang Literary Award. -
Song Ha-choon
Song Ha-choon is a writer. He made his literary debut with a short story that won the Chosun Ilbo New Writer’s Contest in 1972. He is the author of the short story collections The Fall That Just Passed By , The Daughters of Habaek , and The Sphinx Does Not Know Either , and the novels Against the Wind and Climbing the Pacific . -
Song Kyung-dong
Song Kyung-dong has authored the poetry collections Sound Sleep , Answering Trivial Questions , and I’m Not a Korean . He has received the Shin Dong-yup Prize for Literature and the Cheon Sang-byeong Literary Award. In 2014, he was sentenced to prison for mobilizing what he called the “Hope Bus” movement in which some 200 buses swarmed the site of an industrial protest in a show of solidarity. He is part of the investigative committee examining the blacklisting of artists during the past two administrations in South Korea. -
Song Seungeon
Song Seungeon studied creative writing at Chung-Ang University. He debuted in 2011 when Hyundae Munhak journal selected his poems for its Newcomer Recommendations. He has authored the poetry collections Iron and Oak and Love and Education . His poetry has also appeared in multi-poet anthologies such as Grateful to Have a Dog and Your Poetry, My Book. He is a member of the poetry collective Jangnan (作亂). -
Song Sokze
Song Sokze is a novelist whose writing career took off with the publication of “A Man Wiping the Window” in Literature and Thought in 1986 and the short story “The Last 4.5 Seconds of My Life” in Munhakdongne in 1995. His published works include the short story collections The Last 4.5 Seconds of My Life , Possessed , Thus Spoke Hwang Man-geun ; and his novels are Power of Man and Commanding . He is the recipient of the Korea Times and Dongin Literary Awards.
